The first lesson

March 3rd, 2008 Wright 2 comments

Actually, I’ve taken a lot of lessons in Italian. They don’t seem to have stuck. I can’t really say anything besides “ciao.” I can read only the simplest of sentences. So this is will be my latest attempt to change that.

Feel free to jump in if you want to help me!

Mi chiamo Wright. Sono degli stati uniti. Abito a Washington, D.C. Ho 38 anni.

Did that make any sense? I sure hope so.

A lifelong lesson in learning Italian

November 1st, 2007 Wright No comments

For some of us learning a language seems about as easy as confronting your worst fears and learning that you’re not up to facing them down.I’ve tried French, Latin, Italian and Spanish. Mostly, it was a series of failures. And what minor successes I enjoyed have been lost in the sands of time.So now it’s time to try again. It’s time to finally put a language other than English into practice. Italy is just too great of a place to give up on. It’s time to learn something.
